Women Of Fire

The Song

For the first single of his new project: La Beauté, British born-French-adopted singer-musician Sam Stoner teams up with Iranian artist Hura Mirshekari to create Women Of Fire, inspired foremost by the women of Iran, fighting at such great costs for their freedom against the claws and jaws of the Islamic monster. The song equally expresses a cry of support to all those around the world oppressed by obscurantist tyranny.

“I just started yelling my rage into the microphone and this came out" confides Sam Stoner.

“I then realised that it would be better if I could embellish the sound with the voice of someone whose roots were in Iran itself.

My friend Cyril Atef suggested I contact Hura who he had had the pleasure of accompanying a couple of times. She was born in the Sistan region of Iran and had managed to escape to the freedom of France some years ago.

Hura replied straight away with a big YES!

I was so touched by her motivation. It was a wonderful surprise.  Everything came together so naturally.

Hura gave it her all during the recording. Sailing high above my expectations, taking the song towards another universe; translating the chorus into Farsi and into Sistani : her own very special and ancient language,
